"El Profundo Isaac" / "The Deep Isaac"
This is an Innovation Project done by teachers and pupils of our school IES Sabina Mora, and its aim is to model and build an exact copy of the Isaac Peral submarine, by means of 3D printing technology. The prototype will be able to sail and dive. You can find further details on the next Facebook group:
3D Modelling and printing of the Carthaginians and Romans Festive Camp
The pupils of Technology and Information Technology of our school, IES Sabina Mora, have been modelling and printing in 3D the Carthaginians and Romans Festive Camp. Around 100 pupils have been working on that since 2014 under the supervision of David José Alonso, teacher at the Technology Department, and active member of the Carthaginians and Romans troops, as he is the President of the Cultural Association "Infantería Auxiliar Hispana".
The students have used different softwares, as Sketchup (3D modelling) or Cura (3D printers), and have been going into detail about the 3D printing technologies.
3D Modelling of IES SABINA MORA
In our school IES Sabina Mora, 40 pupils belonging to several groups of ICT (Information Technologies) from 4th degree have been collaborating in the 3D Modelling of our school using the software Sketchup.
As a second step, the pupils of the subject Plastic Education will start to build a scale model of the building.
Simultaneously the pupils have been working in a collaborative blog in which it is possible to see how they did their part of the job and which problems they found during its implementation.
Import-Export cooperatives. Street market
Our pupils put a stand in the street market of Roldán, that takes place every Monday in our village. They exposed some typical products of each country, and told the visitors about the project. Previously every partner school chose a portfolio of products that could be representative of their country and culture. ¡It was a very nice activity to know each others!
Reading club
During the project we have started up a Reading Club in our school, in partnership with the rest of schools in Estonia, Finland, Germany and Croatia. Here you have a photo of some of the activities within the club. The aim is that the pupils can know better the important literary works from the rest of participant countries in the Erasmus Project. Periodically the pupils read, together with one of their teachers, a key text from their origin country, and prepare a questionnaire about it. Later, the students from the other countries read the proposed text in English and answer the questions. All this is made to promote the mutual knowledge of the cultures of different European countries.
STEM Days
We have started to organise this STEM days, in which we showed different projects and initiatives in which our school is involved, as 3D modelling and printing, augmented reality, remote-controlled vehicles managed with a smartphone, among other projects.
