INSPIRING STUDIES - FOR US !

For us it is important to show for the pupils what are the possibilities

in Vaala municipality and in bigger towns. Both! It is important to give

to pupils alots of general information and knowledge what are the

possibilities! Future careers in Vaala are limited, but many people will

have good future here when they belive future and study in right place.

It is good, if pupils want know more about different jobs and possibilities

to study.

Ways to better knowledge:

- different learning environments: lessons out of school, camp schools,

   research of nature, hiking, canoeing, fishing, crosscountry skiing...

- good support system, counselling and support to all pupils

- trainership abroad

-cooperation with companies: working exercise 3 weeks per pupil.

 LABOUR AND STUDY PROJECT WEEK, October 2015:         All classes (1-9)  had a topic. What kind work there are in Finland and

in Vaala? What and where are the possibilites to study? How long time it takes? What you must do to get there? Pupils did a drawing of their favorite job!

STEM

Our school has different  CLUBS

- TECHNOLOGY for boys and girls. 3D, wood work, metal and electronics.

- SCIENCE, reseach of all elements of nature with practical exercises.

- INTERNATIONAL, learning of how to travel, speak and behave abroad

                                    and to get knowledge of the project countries.

- MATHEMATICS, to learn more than in lessons in school.

- READING, to learn more about literature. Pupils had possibility to have

                     good discussions about style of writing.

- SPORTS, floorball, football, gymnastic, icehockey and baseball. To get 

                   better physical, mental and social health.

LURE PROJECT. spring 2016. Fishing is popular in Finland because

here are so many lakes. Many pupils did their own lures. They were

testing in water.

​

BATTERY CAR PROJECT, autumn 2016. Several pupils did a

battery car. They had competition who have the fastest car!

STUDY VISITS

It is important that pupils can have possibility to visit in different

vocational schools. Cooperation with those schools plays well.

​

In MUHOS town is good vocational school for technology and aggriculture. (www.osao.fi)

In KAJAANI town is one of the biggest vocational school in Finland.

Technology, commercial, catering, nursing etc. (www.kao.fi).                      Our pupils visit to both vocational schools every year.

​

In VALTIMO municipality is one of the biggest forest industry school of the world.

Our Erasmus group visited there in January 2017. It was interresting

to see how the pupils learn to use modern harvester high technology.
